It\u2019s the reason you don\u2019t float away when you jump. Imagine you have a magical string that keeps everything pulled towards the ground\u2014that\u2019s gravity at work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How does gravity make things fall to the ground?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you let go of a ball, gravity pulls it down to the ground. It&#8217;s like an invisible hand gently tugging at everything, making sure it doesn\u2019t float away. Even though it might seem like there&#8217;s no gravity in space, it&#8217;s actually working all the time. In fact, gravity is the reason why the Moon keeps orbiting around Earth. Even though there isn\u2019t a ground to fall to, the planets, stars, and moons are all pulling on each other with their own gravity. It\u2019s like a cosmic movement where everything is connected by invisible strings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How does gravity keep the Moon orbiting around the Earth?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Earth\u2019s gravity pulls on the Moon, and the Moon\u2019s gravity pulls on the Earth. This pull keeps the Moon from flying off into space. Instead, the Moon goes around and around the Earth in a big circle, like it\u2019s on an invisible leash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-kenta-blocks-image kb-image kb-image-f97aa974\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.workybooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/109204-ONOA9A-282.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Can you jump higher on the Moon than on Earth? Why?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, you can jump way higher on the Moon than on Earth!  Because, the Moon\u2019s gravity is much weaker\u2014about one-sixth as strong as Earth\u2019s gravity. If you weigh 50 pounds on Earth, you would only weigh about 8 pounds on the Moon.
