Bats are mammals that come out at night. They sleep during the day, often in caves or trees. Bats use their ears more than their eyes to find food. They make high-pitched sounds that bounce off objects. This helps them know where things are, even in the dark! Most bats eat insects, but some eat fruit or nectar from flowers. Bats have wings made of skin stretched between their fingers. This allows them to fly and catch food in the air. Bats are important because they help control insect populations and pollinate plants.
