ABOUT THIS READER

One sunny day, Alex and Mia wanted to play outside, but the sunlight was very bright and made the ground hot. "We need a way to stay cool!" said Mia.
Alex looked around and found some big sticks, a blanket, and clothespins. "Let’s build a tent!" he said. Together, they used the sticks to hold up the blanket and created a shady spot.
When they sat under the tent, it felt cooler. "The shade helps block the sunlight," said Mia. "Now we can play here without feeling too hot!"
Mia smiled. "This tent is like an umbrella. It keeps us cool by stopping the sunlight from warming us too much."
