ABOUT THIS READER
In this story, Leo and Emma use an umbrella to block the sunlight and stay cool while playing in the park. One bright and sunny afternoon, Leo and his sister Emma raced to the park to play. The sun was shining so brightly that the grass felt hot, and the air was thick with warmth. "Whew! It's too hot to play here!" Leo said, fanning himself with his hand.
But Emma had a clever idea. "Wait! We brought the big umbrella!" she said. She grabbed the umbrella and opened it wide. As soon as the umbrella was above their heads, the whole space underneath felt cooler and more comfortable.
"Wow! The umbrella is like a magic shield against the sun!" Leo said, smiling as he felt the coolness wash over him.
Emma giggled. "It’s not magic, Leo! The umbrella works like a shade. It blocks the sun and keeps us from getting too hot!"
