Maria and her grandma are baking in the kitchen. They are making chocolate chip cookies from a special recipe. Grandma lets Maria pour the ingredients like sugar, butter, vanilla and flour into their big mixing bowl. “Now we need to add the secret ingredient,” says Grandma. “The chocolate chips!” Maria says happily as she sprinkles them into the dough.
Grandma helps Maria use a spoon to scoop small mounds of dough onto the tray. When the cookies are done baking and cooling, Maria takes a big bite of the fresh, warm cookie. It is so delicious. “I love making cookies with you, Grandma,” says Maria. Grandma smiles and says, “We make a great team in the kitchen!”
