About This Reader
This passage explores NGSS K-LS1-1 through the interdependent relationship between bees and flowers. Students learn how different organisms help each other survive through the pollination process. The content demonstrates how living things obtain their needs through interactions with other organisms, introducing basic concepts of ecological relationships at a kindergarten level.
In Mr. Lee's garden, many bees buzzed around. They flew from flower to flower, drinking sweet nectar. As they moved, yellow pollen stuck to their legs. The bees helped carry pollen to other flowers. This helped new flowers grow! The bees and flowers helped each other stay alive.
