Kids measure each giraffe's height in nonstandard units, then think about and put their data in order.
Pick a level by the stars:

- ★★★ — Tick marks only, no numbers; students count the units to find each height
Every level runs the same three-part routine: read the ruler and write each giraffe's height in its box (CCSS 1.MD.A.2), fill in a guided Think About It table for the tallest, the shortest, and the difference between them, then order all five giraffesfrom shortest to tallest (CCSS 1.MD.A.1). A full answer key follows every level, and on the 1-star sheet two are filled in to get students started.
