Tenths and Hundredths

Tenths and hundredths worksheet that uses the hundredths grid to make one idea stick: every tenth is ten hundredths, so tenths and hundredths can only be added once they name the same-size pieces. Three student pages move from rewriting to adding to solving, with a grid to shade on every problem.

• Page 1 – Rewrite: A 3/10 painted wall and a 7/10 filled bottle. Students shade the matching columns on a hundredths grid and write each as hundredths (3/10 = 30/100).
• Page 2 – Rewrite, then add: 3/10 + 4/100 mile and 5/10 + 12/100 of a tank. Students shade columns for the tenths, extra squares for the hundredths, and add.
