About this worksheet
This pictograph worksheet for 3rd grade teaches students to read and build a scaled picture graph, where each snowman symbol stands for 2 students. Students first read a data table showing how many classmates chose each favorite winter activity, then draw snowmen to complete a full-page pictograph — including a half symbol to show an odd number.
Unlike a simple bar graph, a scaled pictograph asks students to use a key: they multiply by 2 for each whole symbol and add 1 for a half symbol. That makes this a genuinely different skill and a perfect companion to bar-graph practice. A built-in Make a Prediction box invites students to guess the most popular activity and explain their thinking using the numbers in the table.
