About this worksheet
Hang the science of seasons on your wall with this classroom poster for grades 6-8. It shows Earth at four points in its orbit around the Sun, with the one detail most diagrams get wrong rendered correctly: Earth's axis stays parallel, pointing the same direction in space, at every position.
Each position is labeled — the June and December solstices (with the season they bring to the Northern Hemisphere) and the March and September equinoxes. Day-and-night shading shows which side faces the Sun, and a key-fact strip sums up the big idea: the hemisphere tilted toward the Sun gets direct rays and long days (summer), and Earth is actually closest to the Sun in January.
Printed on standard letter paper, it works as an anchor chart, a word-wall reference, or a review aid alongside the Seasons unit. Aligned to NGSS MS-ESS1-1 and MS-ESS1.B. Print and post.
