What is Adhesion?

Adhesion is the scientific name for when different materials stick together! It's the force that makes water stick to glass, tape stick to paper, and paint stick to walls.

Think of it like invisible glue between different substances. This happens because of molecular attraction - tiny particles called molecules are attracted to each other.

Adhesion is different from cohesion (when the same materials stick together). For example, water molecules sticking to other water molecules is cohesion, while water sticking to glass is adhesion!

How Adhesion Works

Adhesion happens because of special forces between molecules called intermolecular forces. These are like tiny magnets that pull different substances together.
